With two decades of experience in the creative arts, media instruction and marketing, Vicky Scesa is a multidisciplinary storyteller who blends traditional craftsmanship with modern technology.
As the Director of Grove Productions and formally as the Marketing Director for a Sonoma County, California boutique hotel, Vicky specializes in photography, social media marketing and brand strategy. She also freelances as a writer for screenplays, copy writing and non-fiction publishing.
Her early career took her to photograph monumental events on the runways of NY Fashion Week(s) to the field for the NFL, Miami Dolphins team. Vicky’s true passion is cinematography and she is actively pursuing the role of Director of Photography for documentary, feature and live music films. Seeing a need for diversity in the role as ‘Camerawoman’, Vicky is especially interested in covering a wide variety of opportunities as a visual storyteller.
Vicky’s background is rooted in a BFA in Graphic Design and refined through specialized training i.e. the ARRI Academy, continuing her education on camera technologies.
Vicky has been working on a special project over the past few years: a documentary about the Seattle Sound movement of the 1990’s as it relates to a dream that Chris Cornell had about Layne Staley. Both, stars of the Grunge music scene, the documentary takes an ethereal walk through the artistic landscape of the time and the spiritual bridge between the talent, their fans and the music left behind. At 38, Vicky began to play the drums and this opened up an even deeper connection with the audible world.
A dedicated advocate for mental health, women’s issues, and the arts, Vicky seeks to partner with mindful individuals and companies dedicated to a kinder, more sustainable future.
Vicky is bilingual in Spanish, making her a versatile collaborator. She welcomes and supports the opportunity for transcultural projects.
Her daughter, Safi, is also an artist and the two enjoy sharing time, creating together.
They reside as modern day fairies in the redwoods of the Mendocino North Coast.
